Raynard S. Kington, colloquially known as "Ray Kay", is the president of Grinnell College. He was most recently deputy director of the National Institutes of Health, and officially became the 13th president of Grinnell College on August 1, 2010.〔''Chronicle of Higher Education''. Ticker. (February 17, 2010 1:21 PM ET) (Grinnell College Chooses Top NIH Official as Its New President ).〕 Kington entered a combined B.S./M.D. program at the University of Michigan at age 16, earning his bachelor's degree when he was 19 and the M.D. at 21. He earned an M.B.A. and a Ph.D. in health policy and economics at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.〔Grinnell College. (February 17, 2010). He served as deputy director of the National Institutes of Health after his appointment by director Elias Zerhouni in 2003.
